RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP OF PETS

The Secretary of the Environment and Sustainable Development of Baja California (SMADS) called for responsible pet ownership, mainly of animals such as large dogs that need open spaces to be able to develop their nature.

The state official stated that the cases of animal abuse and abandonment that have been registered in the entity are worrying; They have worked hand in hand with civil organizations to be able to punish irresponsible owners who, not having enough spaces, decide to leave them aside or keep them in conditions of malnutrition and tied up with little room for maneuver.

Citizens should be reminded that the combination of these factors can generate instinctive attacks by animals that feel threatened, so responsible pet ownership is encouraged. It goes without saying that there are penalties that even lead to the deprivation of liberty in case of animal cruelty in the State.
